Meet our Volunteers

We are incredibly grateful for the work of our volunteers at the Food Museum. Meet a few of our volunteers below:

Angela, Learning Volunteer

“I volunteer because I come from a farming background and I am aware of the increasing disconnect between the realities of food production and public understanding of the complex issues around it. I think the Food Museum is in a great position to involve and inform people in a very engaging and authentic way.

I enjoy volunteering at the Food Museum because there has been lots of variety, everyone is friendly and I hope I can make a real contribution. It’s a beautiful site with great resources and potential.”

Carolyn, Learning Volunteer

“I think my best volunteering memory was helping a child make a flat bread on a school visit. He was so nervous to get involved as he didn’t want to get it wrong. With a lot of support and encouragement he produced a perfect flatbread and was so delighted when it came out of the oven all puffed up and golden.”

Chris, Estates Volunteer

“I enjoy the variety, learning something new and being outside. I enjoy the opportunity to work with the other volunteers, meeting new people and pointing customers in the right direction.
