Summer at the Food Museum

Foodie adventures and outdoor fun activities at the Food Museum, Suffolk this summer holiday!

Immerse yourself in the joy of cooking, baking, and exploring the great outdoors at our stunning 84-acre site activities at the Food Museum, Suffolk this summer holiday.

Baking workshops

On Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings until 31 August, create your own flatbread pizzas from scratch and bake them in an outdoor wood-fired pizza oven, enjoying your creation for lunch. Ages 5+. Book here.

Then on Thursday, Friday and Saturday afternoons, create delicious sweet or savoury scones using fresh produce from the museum’s walled garden. Ages 5+. Book here.

Cookery club

Children aged 7-11 can join our summer cooking programme Thrills and Grills on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until 27 August, where they’ll get to spend a full day learning to cook with a professional chef. Every day, they’ll learn chef skills, gather fresh produce from our site and prepare their own lunches and afternoon treats. Book here.

Summer sharing board evenings

Spend a summer evening in our peaceful grounds with a delicious grazing platter filled with produce from our site! On 16 and 23 August from 7pm, enjoy an array of delicious treats, including our lamb salami, bread made with flour from our Mill, Feast Café sausage rolls, seasonal produce from our Walled Garden and more. Animals and activities

Every day, there’s talks, tours and demonstrations at the museum, including seeing the 18th-century watermill in action making flour, trying your hand at farming, and meeting our rare Suffolk Punch horse and new foal Juno. All included in museum entry! Find out more here.

Exhibitions

There’s also tempting tasters to try every day inspired by our new exhibition Forty Farms, which presents stunning photography of farms in Cumbria by British Life Photographer of the Year, Amy Bateman. Find out more here.

Café

Throughout the summer, the museum’s café Feast will be serving up mouth-watering toasties and food-truck-style fries, a range of summer specials and refreshing local ice creams from Alder Tree.
