Suffolk Punch Horses offsite

Our Suffolk Punch Horses Faith and Juno temporarily left site on 19 March for Juno to be safely and properly weaned, the horses will be offsite for a maximum of 8 weeks.

For weaning to be successful the horses have to be separated, and we cannot do that safely here and without causing undue stress to both animals. They will be put with 2 other mares (known as nanny/aunty horses) with the aim being that Juno will create a bond with one of these mares which allows Faith to then be taken away with the other horse for company. Once separated Faith will be able to dry up and Juno will learn to live without milk.

We apologise that the horses are unavailable to visit and won’t be able to offer our daily horse talk during this time but look forward to welcoming them back in the near future.

Building works

Please be aware of building works taking place across our site.

Our magnificent Medieval Barn is currently closed for repairs and will reopen in June 2026.

The House will remain open whilst exterior works take place before closing during 2027 for renovations, reopening with fresh exhibitions about food-making in the home.

The Factory is closed from November 2025 through March 2027 as we create brand new displays about industrial food production, accessible visitor toilets, and a stunning first-floor events space.
