Jubilant! 2024 – ‘What I Ate for Lunch’
14-21 June 2024
Jubilant! 2024 is a free mini youth arts festival which will be held in Stowmarket from 14-21 June 2024. Now in its third year, Jubilant! is led by the Stowmarket Culture Group in partnership with local schools and professional creative practitioners. Read about Jubilant! 2023 here.
This year ten schools are involved, with students completing photography workshops with a talented local photographer, Sadie Windscheffel-Clarke. Over the course of these workshops, students are being introduced to camera skills and are taking pictures of the food that they eat at lunch, whether that be packed lunches or dinners bought at school. The resulting display will provide a snapshot of what young people in Stowmarket are eating for lunch in 2024.
On 14 June 2024 there will be an open venue Festival Launch Day where students will visit the local cultural scene in Stowmarket and see their work exhibited around town. On this day venues will also be hosting activities for participating students such as behind the scenes tours. The photographs will remain up for the following week whilst some of the images taken will go on to feature as part of a major new exhibition on School Dinners which will launch in 2025 at the Food Museum.
