Every Road Tells A Story

As part of the Unity Housing Redevelopment project taking place in the Wolsey Road area of Stowmarket, Mid Suffolk District Council have been working with members of the local community to record the history of the area.

Writer, Dean Parkin is collecting memories, thoughts and stories from both past and present residents that will be used to create a unique book based around the concept of home and celebrating the life, stories and people of Stowmarket.

Dean is working with local photographer Peter Norris to capture photos that will show how the area will be changing as the development continues over the coming weeks and months.

The project will also result in a free exhibition in Abbots Hall at the Museum of East Anglian Life in the spring where visitors will be able to see a collection of stories, photographs and artefacts on display.

If you would like to share your story and take part in this exciting project either look out for one of our Freepost postcards (available to pick up in various places around Stowmarket), email your story to tenant.involvement@baberghmidsuffolk.gov.uk or contact Dean direct on 07970 078737
