Join us for Easter holiday activities at the Food Museum, from family baking to Easter tastings, meet our animals and enjoy easter-themed sessions of our popular Toddler Time and Forest School activities.

Explore the symbolism of traditional Easter foods through home-cooked, seasonal tastings using produce sourced from across the Museum site.

Meet our Easter Animals
28 March – 12 April, 11.30 & 15.00
Experience springtime at the museum! Each day there’ll be the chance to meet, hold and feed our Easter animals and learn about them with the museum team. Including lambs! All ages. Free with entry, drop-in.
5 April – 22 April, 10.30-12.00pm
Shape and bake decorative Easter brioche bunnies at the bread oven. A fantastic family activity to add on to your day out at the Food Museum. Ages 5+. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Booking essential.
Easter trail
28 March – 12 April, all day
Purchase your Easter trail from the shop, complete Easter puzzles and see what fun things you can discover on the way. Complete the trail to receive a special chocolate treat! All ages.
26 April, 12pm-3pm
Join Suffolk Guild of Food Writers for food and conversation to celebrate the arrival of spring through celebrated food writers. Featuring a menu of seasonal foods sourced from the Museum, cooked by our resident chefs.
£30 per person. Booking essential.
Sunday 22 March 10am-4pm
Learn to make a selection of sweet and savoury Easter breads from across Europe with master baker and Real Bread Ambassador Giovani Di Sarno.
During the workshop you will make traditional Easter breads form around the world including:
Paska – a traditional Ukrainian sweet bread enriched with vanilla, ginger and citrus juice.
Casatiello – a savoury Italian bread filled with salami, pancetta, mature cheese, black pepper and eggs.
Osterpinze – an Austrian sweet and lightly spiced bread with white wine and sultanas.
Pääsiäisleipä – a Finnish bread made to celebrate spring, scented with cardamom, lemon and orange.
£120 per person, lunch included. Booking essential.
Chocolate tasting – Members event
Friday 20 March, 5pm – 8pm
A special member’s event, drop-in to enjoy late night Easter shopping in the museum shop with added chocolate tasting from a selection of local chocolatiers. Don’t forget all members receive 10% off in the museum shop! An ideal opportunity to purchase Easter gifts and enjoy some chocolate for yourself.

Easter Forest School
3 & 12 April, 10.30am–12.30pm
Children will learn how to dye eggs using natural materials and make their own chocolate nests while exploring the sights and sounds of spring.
Easter Toddler Time
1 & 8 April, 10AM–11AM
Celebrate spring with our Easter-themed Toddler Times. Families can enjoy creating Easter nests and meet our friendly lambs, perfect for a seasonal day out.
