School Dinners

School Dinners Exhibition at the Food Museum
2 April 2025-21 February 2027
Semolina, sponge pudding and custard, turkey twizzlers… What are your memories of school food?
Explore school dinners past, present and future at the Food Museum as memories and tastes of school food are brought to life in our new exhibition.
From the meals themselves to the people behind them, have you ever thought about why school dinners are the way they are?
The exhibition will feature tasters that may provoke delight or disgust, depending on your memories of school food.
This exhibition is free with normal museum entry/membership.
Please note that no school dinners will be served in our café over the weekend of 31/05 due to the East Anglian Storytelling Festival taking place at the museum.
We’re excited to announce a special package for group/coach trips. Explore school dinners past, present and future at the Food Museum as memories and tastes of school dinners are brought to life through our exhibition.
Group trips will get discounted group entry and a 2-course school dinner-style meal, specially curated for the exhibition – pick from three options across the decades. Enhance your visit with optional tours and activities. Coach drivers will also receive a voucher for our on-site cafe. Please get in touch at contact@foodmuseum.org.uk to find out more and book.
