About this objectThe flail comprises two wooden shafts of differing lengths. One end of the longer shaft is enclosed by an iron ferrule ending in a neck which holds a rotating iron loop. One end of the shorter shaft has a loop made by nailing a strip of leather to both its sides. These two loops are joined by another loop of leather held in place by a wooden pin. The wood is a dirty yellow, the iron is black and the leather is black and brown.
