About this objectThis is a tin of cayenne pepper with small holes in the top. One is unopened. The paper label is black, yellow and red with printed writing.
The tin is one item amongst a number of objects purchased during the 1940's by a family, who lived in Surrey during the war. One of the family brought them with her to East Anglia when she moved here in 1958. They have been in her pantry since then. (1990)
This object is manufactured and sold under the 'Millstone' brand and can still be bought in supermarkets today.
This object is part of our permanent Domestic Life display - 'The 1950's Kitchen.
