About this objectEducational print used in schools.
This print shows a man harrowing a field with horses - he is sitting on one to guide them. To the right a man walks round the field scattering corn, with birds to the left eating the seed. On the far side of the field is a scarecrow holding a bow and arrow. There are people in boats on the river and also a walled castle with women washing clothes in the river.
It is entitled 'Harrowing and Sewing Corn, 15th. C.' Handwritten bottom left is the name, 'Pauline Diana Baynes'.
