Name/TitleMilk van
About this objectA four wheeled horse drawn milk van with pneumatic tyres. It was built to order in London at a cost of £200.
This vehicle was ordered and used by John Booty in the Booty and Sons dairy at Timworth, on the edge of Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk to deliver milk, pulled by a horse called Sandy.
The dairy ran from 1923 to 1975 and this was their second float, purchased to meet higher standards of hygiene with milk churns giving way to sterilised bottles. The van was pulled by a horse called Sandy.
