About this objectA boater style beekeeper hat used and collected as part of a museum by the donor's husband, Laurence Harley of Stoke-by-Nayland, to whom it was given by a local person. It has a black petersham band around the brim, a guard around the lower brim, with a black net covering. The hat and net were used to protect the beekeeper from being stung by bees who felt their hive was being threatened.
