About this objectThis is part of the collection of clothes belonging to Misses D. and M. Burling, of Swaffham Bulbeck, Cambridgeshire, who were aunts of the donor. The clothes were by the Hancock family at The Laurels Swaffham Bulbeck in 1850/ 1900, who were members of a farming family. This pale blue nightdress is sprigged with darker blue flowers. It has a drawstring neckline and waistline, with a heavily gathered bodice and puff sleeves. There are two 2cms tucks to decorate the gown above the hemline.
