About this objectThis is part of the collection of clothes belonging to Misses D. and M. Burling, of Swaffham Bulbeck, Cambridgeshire, who were aunts of the donor, Mrs Chapman. The clothes were by the Hancock family at The Laurels Swaffham Bulbeck in 1850/ 1900, who were members of a farming family. This khaki coloured blouse made of coarse cotton was probably a work blouse. The front fastening consists of four dark, mother of pearl buttons and hand sewn buttonholes. It has a front yoke, a fold down the centre back and has a waist tape designed to tie at the front. Measurements; nape to waist: 46.5cms; underarm: 42cms; cuff: 7cms.
