About this objectThis is a pink and blue striped underskirt, on a deep waistband, with one large buttoned back fastening. The fullness is reduced by tucks rather than gathers, and has more at the back than the front. It has two folds, round the width of the skirt, just below hip level. The top fold, which is narrower, is only on the back panel.
The clothes were by the Hancock family at The Laurels Swaffham Bulbeck in 1850 - 1900, who were members of a farming family.
