About this objectA surgical horse shoe made of metal and leather, with the leather totally encasing the shoe - it has twelve nails. The upper part of the shoe is curved up and round to support the horse's foot. (toe) At the heel end of the shoe there is a bolt and screw mechanism, to hold the shoe more firmly into place. The shoe would have been used for a horse with a damaged foot.
