Name/TitleCat operating box
About this objectThis has a circular aperture at each end, and a vertical slat of wood inside, the position of which can be adjusted to fit the length of the cat. When an operation was required on the head (e.g. tooth extraction) the cat was laid in the lox with his head emerging through the smaller aperture; if the cat was to be neutered, it was laid with its rear emerging through the larger aperture.
