About this objectA cheese vat with a detachable base, and when the cheese needed to be turned the mould was turned on its side and the base and lid were switched round. There are draining holes in the sides as well as the base. It was used by the donor's mother, Mrs Mary Munnings, and the donor at Weybread, in the 1920s. The donor also made cheese occasionally after her marriage in 1940 at Fressingfield.
