About this objectThe measure is wormed. It was used for measuring a peck of onions. Used by the donor's husband between 1920 - 1939. He grew onions and sold them to neighbours for half a crown ( 2/6 - 12 1/2p.) a peck. He had two large allotments (300 x 10 yards) and a garden at the back of the cottage. He also sold main crop potatoes. People came to the house for vegetables.
