Name/TitleBarley Fork
About this objectAn iron barley fork, with a tang attachment due to a missing handle, possibly used by farmworkers for loading loose barley onto wagons. Its use for sifting loose barley is questionable as the tines are not as far apart as those are on a proper barley fork. This fork is one of a small collection of tools that the donor had from the farm belonging to his late father, Mr R. C. Marsh (1884 - 1954), in Hawkedon, near Bury.
MeasurementsOverall length: 53 cm.
