About this objectThis fork is one of a small collection of tools which came from the donor's father's farm, Hyngriff Hall, Hawkedon, near Bury, and had been used by farmworkers on the farm.
It was used for moving the caving from the back of the threshing drum to the elevator to be stacked, or for making into heaps to be burnt.
The ends of the tines are spatulate for easy handling. The handle has been broken off at the end of the tang.
