About this objectOn one side of the head: 'MADE BY T & SON LONDON.' On the other side: 'HARROD'S/ WARRENTED 70 ALL BRISTLE.' Used by the donor's father, Nehemiah 'Mikey' Dunningham. Born c. 1883, died 1956. Head coachman at Gifford's Hall, Stoke-by-Nayland, then Shelley Hall, Nr. Hadleigh, (1920's) and became a chauffeur there when cars came in. He was concerned with horses for riding and pulling traps etc., not farm horses. Father had a small farm at Raydon, Nr. Hadleigh. Also used by the donor's daughter, when she helped to look after horses in Newton Road, Stowmarket, c.1970. She trained as a stable girl near Newmarket.
