Name/TitleSeed drill
About this objectIt was used by, a Claydon Blacksmith, in his garden at the rear of the smithy, probably during the 1930s and 1940s, though possibly later too. It was probably used for sowing small root seeds, turnip, carrots etc., and has a brush type feed mechanism. It is coloured green on the hopper and wheels. According to the donor, it was either made by the user, or his father, but in fact the drill looks factory made, it is possible however, that he adapted it for his own use.
Two attachments for holding the right-hand wheel in place on the axle are missing.
