About this objectA Women’s Land Army badge, worn by the donor's wife between 1917 and 1919. It is rectangular with a V shaped base and is embroidered in yellow and red.
According to the Women's Land Army Handbook. The letters LAAS stand for: Land Army Agricultural Section; and for the four 'gifts' of the Land Army: Loyalty - Ability - Ardour - Service. The LAAS badge was given after two months approved service, and would be worn on the left lapel of the overall.
