Name/TitleSeed box
About this objectThe box was used by the late Mr. A.P. Miles of Snape Farm, Rickinghall and Hall Farm, Burgate for sowing clover and mustard seed. It is made of pieces of wood nailed together, with a rope attached at each side of the box which would have been worn around the neck, and 2 separate lengths of brown twine attached to the nearer edge of the box, which were presumably passed around the sower's waist and tied at his back to keep the box steady. Two lengths of cotton material have been stuck along a gap between two sections wood on the bottom of the box to prevent seeds falling through.
