About this objectUsed by the donor's father, Mr G. B. Blaker, at Scarlett's Farm in the 1930's. Mr G.B Blaker was a horse breaker and farmer.
In a box are, one syringe, 2 needles and 3 additional attachments, and also several short lengths of wire called "keepers". The "keepers" are used for clearing the needles of blockages. The other attachments could possibly been used for washing out a wound, abscess.
The syringe is regarded as not being too large for use on humans for this purpose, but the donor is sure he has seen his father use the syringe on his horses.
This is a specialised syringe, used for performing a specific task. The needles are epidural, used for withdrawing fluid from the base of the spine, or for injecting there to introduce a local anesthetic in another part of the body.
