About this objectPea make, used to cut and gather peas. The name 'pea make' is East Anglian, 'make' meaning 'to gather'. It has a blade with a slight "S" curve. It opens into a socket, through which the top of the handle passes and is secured by bending in the open top of the socket.
It was used at Mr Ford's farm at Oldham Wall, and later at Henley, by the donor, and his father (died c.1960, aged 85) before him.
