About this objectThis is a saddle bag made from navy woollen cloth with purple canvas binding. It is edged with pale blue, canvas lined, and has pigskin pouches to hold weights. The pouches contain 11 weights (STMEA:A.5264 to STMEA:A.5274), which have their corners rounded to fit the pouch. The bag was used under the saddle to carry handicapping weights at Scarlets' Farm, West Bergholt; it was used by the donor's father, G.B. Blaker, a farmer who rode in point-to-point races.
