About this objectThis is a saddle bag made of woollen check material lined with canvas, with pigskin pouches to hold weights. The bag was placed under the saddle and carried the handicapping weights, it was secured by two straps on each side. It was used by the donor's father, Mr. G.B. Blaker, a farmer who rode in point-to-point races.

Transverse measure: 2 feet 6 inches (a tuck has been taken in to leave 2 feet 2 inches)
Pouches: 7 inches deep, stitched to form 4 pouches (each roughly 3 3/4 inches)
