About this objectMade of iron. This bit was used, possibly for horse-breaking, by the donor's father, at Scarlett's Farm, which he purchased in 1929. Two large rings hang freely from the mouthpiece. Both the sidepieces are fixed with respect to the mouthpiece and there are two slots in the upper sections of the sidepieces. The bottom of the sidepieces are twisted into spirals, to which a chain is attached and which passes through the rings.
