About this objectThis was used at Holly Lodge Farm, Lawford, Essex. It is of leather with iron fittings and brass studs and mount. The buckles on the headstall are brass, on the reins iron. The cheekpieces are ornamented with seven brass studs around the edge. One mount and the bit are missing. The mount in place is a smaller substitute for a larger original (as evidenced by prick-holes).
