About this objectA wagon jack, made of iron, used for supporting the axle when fitting a wheel to a cart or a wagon. It has a lever-action, the height being adjustable by inserting an iron bolt into a series of ten holes. A moveable arm on a lever catches into a series of twelve holes on a ratchet. This object was used by the donor at his smallholding in Bishops Stortford which he purchased on his return from Australia in 1920 (he was 82 at the time of donation).
