Name/TitlePlough (AY)
About this objectThe plough came out in 1835, but parts are still advertised in the 1862 catalogue.
The plough is painted red. This plough has a wheel, but it has not been fitted with an iron stilt for steering.
This is a horse-drawn plough with a beam and metal parts, used by Ransomes at shows and ploughing matches over a number of years. The plough has several layers of paint, as it would have been painted before each show or competition in order to look smart and promote the corporate image.
