About this objectThe bell was used on a horse harness. It was found in 1957 in the foundation of a path now grassed over and part of the lawn at Wetherden Rectory.It was made by Robert Wells at Aldbourne, Wiltshire, from bronze, and bears the initials "R.W." of Robert Wells, and below the suspension loop a scratched letter "J." probably of a former owner.
