Name/TitleTractor plough
About this objectPlough used by the donor and his father on Snape Farm and Snape Hill Farm. The rear share is missing. It is a YLDA double-furrow tractor plough which, pulled by a tractor, was a development of the YL series (Yorkshire Light) horse-drawn plough body. DA identifies it as a double action tractor plough. Having a double furrow reduces the distance travelled when compared to the single furrow. The YL series was still available on tractor ploughs in the 1980s.
