About this objectThis was used at a farm in Mendlesham, for weeding clover. The narrow head avoided dislodging the clover. The head fits into the handle by a tang, and includes a socket (square in this case) into which the blade fits by means of a tang. This is the head only (handle is missing) with a detachable blade. Blades of different sizes could be used with the same handle.

Blade: 2 1/2 inches long x 2 1/4 inches wide, with 2 1/2 inch tang to fit the square socket in the head.
