Name/TitlePlough breast
About this objectThis was probably used in the early 19th century, for hand ploughing light land and paring turf. The missing handle would have been held at thigh level, rather than by the breast. The handle, which is now missing, was held at thigh level not breast. The upper surface is chamfered in part.
