About this objectA self-binding reaper used at Coddenham by the donors' father up to 1928 and later by the donor up to c.1945. The machine consists of three adjustable handles and one wooden sheaf retainer. It was made in Chicago USA, by The International Harvesting Machine Company and, with respect to this, is marked with 'International Harvester McCormick'. This reaper features an interesting, if not unique, mechanism for holding back sheaf so as to drop two at a time.
