Name/TitleStover
About this objectThis is a very early type with exceptionally thick tines. It is secured to the handle by a tang and ferrule in one piece, with the front of the strap.
This was described by the donor, Manor Farm, Kersey, as a stover for taking trussed hay from the stack and is therefore related to the trussing fork, hence the very thick tines. The handle is of ash, broken off at stump.
