About this objectA scythe cradle, possibly made out of beech, used for gathering corn into sheaves. It was not used for barley, the scythe bow was used for this. It has been painted red. The head of the tool is chamfered between the teeth. An iron binder forms an attachment to the snead. It has three tines, with an iron rod supporting two secondary, loose, swinging tines.
