About this objectThis device was fuelled by paraffin. The water was extracted by topping up. It was used in a Dairy and afterwards for domestic purposes, such as heating bath water. The drum is painted silver and is placed on a mobile blue trolley> A further section has been welded on top of the drum with a spout from which the water is poured. The whole is covered with a black lid, screwed down, into which have been let three holes, one to accommodate a black chimney, the second holding a paraffin drip feed apparatus, and a third holding a small silver painted funnel in which to pour water which is encased inside the drum in a separate compartment. A small quantity of paraffin was burnt at the base of the drum to make heat to warm the water.
