About this objectThis photograph was taken at Romshed Farm in Kent. Romshed Farm is a Pasture for Life Certified farm, run by Fidelity Western. Fidelity uses the hedgerows on her farm to help herd her livestock to new pastures. Pasture for Life champions the restorative power of grazing animals on pasture.
This work was part of the Hedgerow exhibition displayed in the William Bone Gallery from June 2022 - June 2023. In collaboration with Our Isles and a collective of artists, chefs, farmers, historians, and specialists; this exhibition narrates the story of the hedgerow throughout history, to the present day and beyond. Supported by Arts Council England and the New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership.
Angus D. Birditt is the curator of the Hedgerow exhibition. He is also a writer, photographer, poet and founder of Our Isles. Angus is an advocate for the rural environment, celebrating and encouraging its appreciation through his various works. He writes and photographs on food & drink, agriculture, nature and rural heritage.
