About this objectA long tie made of green synthetic material, crossed with diagonal red lines, alternately 9mm and 30mm apart. The 9mm band has WLA printed along it in white, each group of letters being upside down compared with the group on either side. It follows the usual shape. The donor of this tie was Forewoman at Shelley Hall WLA Hostel near Hadleigh between 1943 and 1945. The women's clothing ration had to be used for the Women's Land Army uniform.
