About this objectA long wooden shaft (or snead) from a scythe. The shaft is curved slightly in two planes and also tapers slightly at one end. Towards the thinner end is a projecting handle. At the other end is a metal filament to attach the shaft to a blade. This shaft was donated alongside a corresponding blade (STMEA:1998-11b). Combined together, these objects form a complete scythe.
