The honey extractor works on the principle of centrifugal force. This is a tangential extractor. Inside is the cage where the combs are placed. There are two gears mounted on top of the extractor, the handle is attached to these. At the bottom of the extractor there is the honey gate or tap. The top has a design of a bee worked into the metal; there is also a plant with a bloom on top. The honey gate has in the past had some repair work. At the bottom of the extractor there is a fixed bracket on each side for securing to a base.
