Burdalls of Sheffield produced a ranges of powders for mixing into foods and making gravy. Indian curry powder became popular during the 1950's especially with the advent of 'Coronation Chicken' which became a favourite for sandwiches after the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.
