About this objectThis refrigerator was bought at a farm sale in Ipswich at the end of the war for £2, having been used in the dairy. It was intended for conversion to a safe but when it was found to be in working order it was put to its proper use till 1974, by the donor. It has needed no attention and is still in working order.
Made by THOMAS HOUSTON CO. LTD., at (169, Regent Street, London) RUGBY, the refrigerator has five wire shelves and an ice cube tray.
The motor or circular heat exchanger is in a cylindrical bee hive style housing on top of the fridge. Large, cream coloured.
