About this objectThis butcher's poleaxe was used in Earl Soham by the the Donor, his father and his grandfather in their butcher's shop. The hook end of the poleaxe was used to hold cattle by the horns and twist the head sideways. The other end was driven through the centre of the front skull to kill the animal. This poleaxe is missing a handle.
