About this objectThis was used by Simpson the chemist in the late 19th century at Stowmarket. It was used for labels for 'Game Paste' sold by Simpson, but apparently mixed by C.E. Brett, his warehouseman on the premises.
Two notebooks contain entries of sales for 1888-1896 and 1896-1900.
The plate is divided into two panels, representing respectively farmyard fowl and field birds, with an inscription.
