About this objectThis is a chimney crane used by kitchen staff at the Bull Hotel, Eye (a fried fish shop at the time of donation). It was used from the 18th to 19th centuries to suspend kettles, etc. over the fire. The crane moves in four ways: it swivels laterally (slides backwards and forwards) and raises and lowers by lever action. It has a swivel hook.
